Tidi proffers solution for a workable Nigeria
Dr. Michael Tidi

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, Dr. Michael Tidi, says in order for Nigeria to work for all its citizens, the fiery ingenuity of the youths must be blended with the dependable experience of the older generation.

Dr. Tidi, who made the assertion in a statement released today, Wednesday August 12, in commemoration of this year’s International Youth Day, averred: “This day provides an opportunity for all of us, both young and adults alike, to reflect on the future of our nation; to decide on the active and participatory role that we want our young people to play in the governance of our country; and to work towards building a nation that the upcoming generation would be proud of”.

While noting that the significance of the International Youth Day is not lost on him, the Warri South Council Boss, noted: “It is a celebration of the endless potential and constant innovativeness of Nigeria's young people, both at home and abroad”.

He added: “Our administration in Warri South Local Council remains committed to furthering the opportunities of our young people. Through our work on educational initiatives like our collaborative efforts with the Education USA Information Event that creates US Education Opportunities/ Scholarships, we hope to develop the minds of our young ones - to make them competitive globally.

“It is against this backdrop that I urge all young Nigerians, to continue contributing their quota to the up-liftment of our Nation. May I also respectfully urge the older generation to see this day as a turning point - when they embrace the recommendations that our young people have to proffer to move our nation forward”.
