Leader of Peoples Democratic Party in Warri South Local Government Area, Chief Joseph Otumara, on Sunday August 16, assured current Supervisor for Education in Warri South Council, Chief Linda Eya Ikpuri, that he would carry forward her crusade of formula change in terms of power balancing as it affects Urhobos of Warri South Constituency 2 in Warri South Local Government Area.
Chief Otumara, gave the assurance when some prominent Chiefs, elders, women and youths of Agbarah Warri, accompanied Chief Linda Ikpuri to his private resident in Warri.
The PDP leader and former three - time Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, agreed with Chief Linda Ikpuri that the power sharing formula among Urhobos of Warri South Constituency 2, has changed with Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, who is largely from Okere - Urhobo axis now representing the constituency in the State House of Assembly.
He promised to liaise with PDP leaders of Warri South Constituency 2 as the forthcoming Delta State local government polls inch closer .
The member representing Warri South Constituency 2 in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, who was present during the consultation visit by Chief Linda Ikpuri and her supporters, stated, " my presence here speaks volume".
Speaking earlier, Chief Linda Ikpuri, who is eyeing the Warri South Vice Chairmanship ticket, stated that Chief Otumara doesn't support mediocrity and had contributed a lot to what she is today, both in politics and business.
While saying that Chief Otumara came to her rescue in her darkest hour in politics, Chief Ikpuri also spoke of Hon. Opuoru's support in terms of her political career thus far.
According to her, in the build - up to the last local government election, the immediate past lawmaker who represented Warri South Constituency 2 in the State House of Assembly,Hon. Dennis Omovie, came from Agbarah Warri, paving way for Vice Chairman of the local government area to come from Okere - Urhobo, arguing that since the current lawmaker, Hon. Opuoru, comes from Okere - Urhobo, it would make for equity to have an Agbarah indigene as the next Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, hence her interest in the Vice Chairmanship position in the forthcoming local government poll.
