Okorodudu: INYC raises alarm over plot to kidnap more Itsekiri leaders
INYC delegation & Ethiope East Council Officials, during the visit

·       The leadership of Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC, has raised alarm over what they described as a conspiracy theory to kidnap a list of marked Itsekiri notable leaders for reasons not known, Fresh Angle International can report.

The alarm was raised Monday August, 17 by President of Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC, Comrade Oritseweyinmi Agbateyiniro, when he led a delegation of INYC members on a visit to the Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area, Hon. Faith Majemite, at the Ethiope East Council Secretariat in Isiokolo.

While addressing the Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area, Hon. Faith Majemite, who was represented by the Leader of Ethiope East Local Government Council Legislative Arm, Hon. Victor Ofobrukuta, Comrade Agbateyiniro, wondered why those behind the alleged conspiracy theory, “would want to at all cost kidnap those in the said list of Itsekiri marked leaders; abduct and take hostage of Aduge Okorodudu, for several days in a building at Kokori Community”, adding that those responsible must be arrested and prosecuted.

Our Senior Correspondent, scooped from the conversation between the INYC delegation and the Ethiope East Council Management, that the Warri North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Aduge Okorodudu, was allegedly detained by his abductors for several days in a building at Kokori Community in Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State, before, “he miraculously escaped”.

INYC stated: “The building in Kokori where Hon. Okorodudu Aduge was kept hostage for several days is well known; the correlation between the owner of the building, the inhabitants of the building, the kidnappers, their activities and this conspiracy theory are all well known. Therefore, since no one knows which Itsekiri leader(s) on this said list will be kidnapped tomorrow, it was only proper that this visit by the leadership of Itsekiri National Youths Council to the Office of the Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area, was executed to bring her attention and by extension the attention of the general public to all of these ugly developments, in order that necessary measures can be put in place to avert a reoccurrence of such ugly incident and where possible, nip same in the bud”.

Responding on behalf of Hon. Majemite, Leader of Ethiope East Legislative Arm,  Hon. Victor Ofobrukuta, expressed displeasure over the unfortunate incident and reportedly acknowledged that the local government boss, “was not only aware that her colleague was kidnapped, but was also aware that he was taken hostage in a building in Kokori Community”.

According to Hon. Majemite, the Council will leave no stone unturned, until the issue raised by the INYC delegation is addressed, in line with, “the Delta State Government anti kidnapping law that is now in full operation”.

This Newspaper can report that members of the INYC delegation drawn from her chapters in Warri North, Warri South, Warri South-West, Sapele and Ethiope West, that stormed Isiokolo, include; Comrade Appearance Afejuku, Comrade Mabiaku Sunny, Comrade Agbalagba Donald, Comrade Dere Richard, Comrade Scot Awani, Comrade Emma Nunu, Comrade Oscar Otone, Comrade Ufuoma Ugburo, Comrade Ofori Adolor, Comrade Tseti Bobi, Hon. Javis Afor, Comrade Ese Ebaje and Comrade Dboy Popo.
