Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, has tasked the new Warri Area Commander of Nigerian Police, ACP Abubaka Argungu, to immediately address growing agitations by some persons over the imperative of getting constitutionally elected executive, to pilot certain leadership structures in Pessu and Okere-Urhobo Communities, Warri.

Dr. Tidi, gave the mandate today, Monday August 31, when he played host to the new Area Commander of Nigerian Police, Warri.

The Warri South Local Government Chairman, stressed the need for the Police to work in synergy with his administration, to attain sustainable peace and unity across the different communities in the local government area.

He stated that community policing, should be the new focus in the country, considering the involvement of critical stakeholders at the grassroots.

ACP Argungu in his remarks, described the Dr. Tidi’s administration as a very focused, calling for the sustained cooperation, his predecessor enjoyed from the Dr. Tidi leadership.

While promising to adopt conflict resolution mechanism in tackling challenges that may arise in the course of his assignment, ACP Argungu, who hails from Kebbi State, assured that everything would be done to ensure sustainable peace and security in Warri South Local Government Area.

 

Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Chief Divine Iniovosa, Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Joseph Oribioye, the Council’s Supervisors for Environment and Health, Mr. Shegue Gbeneso and Patricia Edun respectively, as well as Warri South Council Head of Personnel Management, Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude, were among Management of the Local Government Council that were on ground, during the working visit by the new Police Area Commander.
