The Member Representing Lokoja, Kogi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Barr. Shaba Ibrahim, former Secretary to Kogi State Government, Professor Olugbemiro Jegede, a former Special Adviser to Kogi State Government, Hon. Mohammed Maikudi Yusuf, the Zonal Chairman of Kogi West PDP, Prince Omofe Benson, Immediate past PDP Vice Chairman Kogi State, Hon. Mohammad Abdulrahaman and the Kogi State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, Comrade Momohjimoh Adeiza, were among prominent indigenes of Kogi State, that have paid glowing tribute to a one-time Military Governor of the defunct Bendel State and Senator, Tunde Ogbeha as he clocks 73years today, Tuesday September 1.

 

Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that others who extoled the virtues of Senator Ogbeha, include immediate past Chief Press Secretary to Architect Yomi Awoniyi and Publisher of Nigerian Post Newspaper, Mike Abuh, Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Lokoja Local Government, Idris Abubakar Lokoja, Hon. Kabiru Yusuf, a one-time Supervisory Council, Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Hon. Gimba Mohammed and a retired Permanent Secretary, Joseph Alhassan.

They described Senator Ogbeha as a huge figure, man of integrity as well as a believer of peace and the development of Kogi State in particular and Nigeria in general, saying Senator Ogbeha has continued to serve God and man diligently.

The former defunct Bendel State Military Governor and ex-Senator of Kogi West, was also described as a man whose legacies continue to speak for him, following his, “immense contribution to the development of his home town, Lokoja the Kogi State Capital and Nigeria in general”.

 

Fresh Angle International understands that Senator Ogbeha was born in Lokoja, September 1, 1947. He is the second of four children of late Pa. Joseph Abu Ogbeha and late Mama Priscilla Ogbeha.

 

On 1st September, 1973, Senator Ogbeha married Jacinta Nshobo Mofan in Abeokuta and the marriage was blessed with a son, Simbabi, who is currently the Managing Director, Confluence Cable Network.

 

Senator Tunde Ogbeha, was commissioned Second Lieutenant into the Nigerian Army in 1970. He served in various capacity of the Nigerian Army, including 93 Infantry Battalion, Nigerian Army Abeokuta, General Staff Officer 2 Nigeria Army Headquarter, Command and Staff College, Nigeria Defence Academy, Jaji, Director of Equipment, Army Headquarters, Commander 1 Mechanized Brigade, Defence Adviser, Zimbabwe, Commandant Infantry Center and School, Jaji and Chief of Administration Headquarter, Nigerian Army. 

 

He was a former Nigeria Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea, the pioneer Military Governor of Akwa Ibom State, between 1987-1988 and the Military Governor of old Bendel State, between 1988-1990.
