About 773 million people worldwide lack literacy skills - UN


The United Nations, UN, says nearly 773 million adults and young people worldwide lack literacy skills.

 

According to the global body, apart from lacking literacy skills, the estimated 773 million people are unable to access life - saving information during this COVID - 19 pandemic.

 

In a terse statement released in the wee hours of today, Tuesday September 8, to mark this year's world literacy day, the United Nations noted: "Nearly 773 million adults & young people worldwide lack literacy skills, & are unable to access life-saving information during #COVID19."
