The Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, has directed that all retired Police Officers be registered and captured on the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, as approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
According to a statement released this afternoon, Friday September 11, by the Delta State Police Command, the enrolment is for all retired Police Officers, regardless of their ranks on retirement along with their spouses.
The statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, noted: “This is to enable them have full access to all NHIS Services and benefits covered by the Police Health Organization (Police Maintenance Organization – HMO) code 073.
“In furtherance to this, the exercise has been scheduled to hold in the eight (8) Area Command Headquarters of the Command namely: Asaba, Agbor, Burutu, Ogwashi-Uku, Ozoro, Sapele, Ughelli and Warri from Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd September, 2020 by 0800hrs daily.
“To this end, retirees are required to visit any Police Area Command nearest to them with the following: National Identity Number, NIN, letter of retirement and retiree’s I.D card and one passport photograph of retiree and spouse.”
