Niger Delta based NGO plans 3-day leadership workshop for women, others

In continuation of its set objectives of helping to build the capacity of women towards contributing effectively to National Development, a Niger Delta based NGO, Morgan Smart Development Foundation has concluded plans to conduct series of workshops starting with a three (3) day leadership workshop from the 1stweek of April, 2012 for women community leaders.

The participants will be drawn from communities in Delta State,women focused Non Governmental Organization, NGOs and Community Based Organizations.

The workshop is designed to build the capacity of women holding leadership positions at all levels in communities, women focused Non Governmental Organizations and Community based Organizations to build their capacities by developing new and advanced skills to engender change in their communities and society at large.The foundation intend building their capacities with the series of leadership training workshops being organized.

The training methodology will be basically drawn from the Centre of Development and Population Activities, CEDPA, based in Washington on their Adult learning Mode land Appreciative Inquiry Model. The participants will acquire new and advanced skills in: Proposal Writing, fund raising, financial management, banking and banking transactions, book keeping, micro-credit, communications, advocacy,enterprise development, group/team development and gender mainstreaming within the context of the millennium development goals.

The workshop will be held in Warri for easy accessibility by participants.

The Morgan Smart Development Foundation, MSDF, is a non governmental organization dedicated to the empowerment of rural and urban poor women and youths for poverty reduction, employment generation and sustainable socio-economicdevelopment in Nigeria especially in the Niger Delta Region.
