Stakeholders of the Omala Chapter of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, has urged the general public to disregard news linking them with alleged protest against the endorsement of the former Administrator and SSA to the Governor of Kogi State on Security, Alh. Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh, as APC's sole candidate for the December 12 Local Government Council election.
Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that the party made this known Thursday, September 24, during a press statement issued by the PDP Chairman, Omala Local Government Area, Hon. Jeremiah Adaji Obaje.
Hon. Obaje, stated that the former administrator, was the masterminder of the cook-up story in an attempt to gain favour and sympathy from the party or probably from the incumbent governor of the state.
According to him, the aspirant have been rejected by his party's stakeholders, majority of his party members and the entire people of Omala Local government, for his alleged gross misconduct and massive administrative failure.
The PDP Chairman advised the former administrator to look inward and face his massive rejection by his party, stressing that the PDP has nothing to do with the said kangaroo adoption marred by sporadic gunshots, which has been his trade mark.
"How could we disrupt the endorsement of an aspirant, who has never delivered his polling unit for his party in all the previous elections. We were told that the APC members were protesting against the imposition of the former administrator on them by one Ahmed Attah from Dekina Local Government, but we were shocked by the false news linking our dear party with Omala APC internal crises", Hon. Adaji added.
He urged the general public to investigate the news to ascertain the fact as it's uncalled-for to believe that the PDP stakeholders would stoop so low to stop the endorsement of already failed candidate when the PDP have popular and generally accepted aspirants vying for the same position.
The divisional Chairman said Omala remains the strong hold of the PDP and will enjoy an easy ride to victory, if a candidate like Alhaji Ibrahim Yakubu Aboh, is fielded by the All Progressives Congress, APC in the forthcoming local government council poll.
