The District Governor of Rotary International, District 9141, Rotarian Virginia Major, Thursday October 1, commissioned the Rotary Club of Warri projects for the 2020/2021 Rotary year.

 

The projects commissioned are; distribution of Feed-A-family packs to 20 vulnerable families as well as seven Rotary branded Hand-washing Drums and 1,000 Rotary branded Facemasks, to the Warri Area Command of Nigerian Police and Delta State High Courts, sitting in Warri.

Fresh Angle International can report that DG Major, also inspected the ongoing Physiotherapy Centre project at the Central Hospital, Warri.

 

While inspecting the ongoing work at the Physiotherapy Centre, DG Major, expressed optimism that the multi-million naira physiotherapy project, would soon be completed, saying only Rotary Club of Warri, has the capacity to undertake such a massive project.

Supported by Assistant Governors Chris Ojeke and Yemi Akinfaloye, Rotarian Major, explained that the reasons for the Feed-A-Family and Stay-Safe by Hand-Washing Campaign by Rotary Club of Warri, held at the Police Area Command, Warri, was to promote adherence to the COVID-19 protocols and expression of love for vulnerable persons.

President of the Rotary Club of Warri, Rotarian. Francis Chavwuko Okoro, commended the police for saving lives and properties, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Rotarian Okoro stated: “We have come to support the Nigerian Police with seven washing hand drums and 1,000 facemasks”. 

 

Rotarian President Francis Okoro, explained that the love for humanity by Rotarians informed the donation of food items by the Club.

 

DG Major, also supervised the payment of dialysis sessions for four renal in-patients at the Dialysis unit of the Central Hospital, Warri, carried out by the Rotary Club of Warri Metropolis.

 

The Warri Area Commander of the Nigerian Police, ACP Abubaka Argungu, who was represented by an Admin Officer, SP Mustapha B. Jubril, appreciated Rotary Club of Warri for initiating the programme.

 

Beneficiaries of the Feed-A-Family programme, expressed gratitude to Rotarians for presenting them with the food items.  

 

The Matron In-Charge of Dialysis Unit, Central Hospital, Warri, Chief Matron Ebinum, thanked the Rotary Club of Warri Metropolis for supporting the Dialysis patients.
