But for the quick intervention of some community youth leaders, who had to put out raging burn-fire at the Ugbuwangue Junction, along the ever-busy NPA Expressway in Warri, Delta State, the protesting youths who came out in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday October 21, would have also blocked the Ugbuwangue axis of the busy route.

When Our Editor-In-Chief ran into the protesters, some of them were shouting, “we have no jobs’, “all the companies have gone’, ‘Buhari dey make life tough for us, he must go’.

Some of the Protesters

Private and commercial vehicles as well as tricycles owners, plying the busy NPA Expressway, which serves as major entry and exit to the Oil City of Warri from Effurun, inscribed leaves at the front of their vehicles as a mark of solidarity for the protest.

Angry protesters

Chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, in a telephone chat with This Newspaper, appealed to the protesting youths to remain calm, exercise their right peacefully and avoid a situation, where hoodlums will take advantage of the peaceful atmosphere.
