Missing Itsekiri N300 Million: Ologbotsere of Warri, Emami heads to EFCC


The Ologbotsere of Warri,  Chief Ayirimi Emami, has vowed to head to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,,EFCC over the controversial withdrawal of three hundred million naira ( N300,000000) from the  Itsekiri Regional Development Committee, IRDC account in Keystone Bank.

 

Recall that The Igba of Warri, Chief Rita Lori - Ogbebor, Sir A. S. Mene and a few other Itsekiris alleged  in 2015, that  Chief Ayirimi Emami, who was then Akulagba of Warri, wanted to steal huge sum of money from IRDC account and he was purportedly arrested for questioning, after which he cleared himself of any wrongdoing.

 

 

 

Enraged by reports that same persons who accused him of attempts to pilfer money from IRDC account, allegedly connived with some members of Itsekiri Regional Development Committee executive, without the knowledge of Delta State Government and Chevron Nigeria Limited, to withdraw N300 million from the Itsekiri Oil and Gas Producing Communities' account in Keystone Bank October 26 ( last month) Chief Emami  declared his intention to immediately head to Nigeria's anti graft agency, EFCC, to demand the whereabouts of the multi million naira.

 

 

 

The prominent Warri Chief and business man, in a press statement released this morning, Wednesday November 11, averred that he would not rest on his oars until the EFCC arrest and prosecute all those responsible for the disappearing N300 million meant for the development of Itsekiri Oil and Gas Producing/ Impacted communities under Chevron's operational areas in Warri South, Warri South - West and Warri North Local Government Areas in Delta State.
