The African Region of World Health Organization, WHO, has put the COVID - 19 death toll in Africa at 74,000 with 2.5 million recoveries.
According to the regional health body, as at Wednesday January 13, there were over 3 million confirmed COVID - 19 cases on the African continent.
In a tweet, WHO African Region, stated: " Over 3 million confirmed #COVID19 cases on the African continent - with more than 2.5 million recoveries & 74,000 deaths cumulatively".
