Chevron denies media reports of oil spill in its Bayelsa Field


The Management of Chevron Nigeria Limited, CNL, operator of the joint venture between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC and CNL, has denied media reports of alleged oil spill from its Funiwa Field in Bayelsa State.

                                                           

The Oil and Gas Major, in a press release syndicated to Fresh Angle International at about mid-day today, Monday January 18, emphasized: “There has been no such oil leakage or spill incident at any of our facilities in Bayelsa State. Therefore, any observed crude oil in the environment is not from our operations.”

 

The release which was signed by the Company’s General Manager - Policy, Government and Public Affairs, Esimaje Brikinn, noted: “CNL remains committed to protecting people and the environment as well as conducting its operations reliably and efficiently.”
