COVID -19: Delta State records 65 new cases

A total of 65 COVID - 19 positive cases were recorded in Delta State yesterday, according to report released by NCDC overnight.

Delta recorded the sixth highest positive cases in the last 24 hours, out of the total 1, 483 new cases of COVID - 19 reported by NCDC across the country.

Kaduna State had 545 positive cases, while FCT, Plateau, Nasarawa and Oyo States recorded 235, 127,80 and 72 cases respectively.

Delta was closely followed by Rivers State with 64 positive cases, while neigbouring Bayelsa and Edo States, equally hit double figures of 30 and 25 positive cases respectively.

Fresh Angle International can report that despite the spike in COVID - 19 positive cases in the second wave being experienced, most inhabitants of Delta State like their counterparts in other states, have continued to disregard COVID - 19 protocols, with many seeing the virus as another variant of malaria or typhoid.

Since the beginning of the second wave of COVID - 19, Nigeria has been recording over 1,000 positive cases daily, with Thursday figure hitting over 1,900.
