The leadership of the Southeast All Progressives Congress, APC and the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohaneze Ndigbo, came together as a team to inspect and take ownership of the second Niger Bridge project which is estimated at N366billion.
At a parley, sequel to a tour of the site at Onitsha/Asaba, we took turns to salute &express our immeasurable gratitude for the courage of Muhammadu Buhari over this ambitious project &indeed for the other massive developmental projects embarked upon by the Federal Govt in our region.
The Federal Controller of Works, Anambra State, Engr. Ajani explained that the bridge is about 47km. The first phase, which is about 55% completed, is about 11 kilometers.
The entire project which has engaged close to 20,000 workers, when completed, will link the South East, the SouthSouth and the entire Northern Nigeria.
What looked like a dream is a now a reality as the second Niger Bridge has a lot of economic and human benefits to both South East and Nigeria in general. At the completion and commissioning of the second Niger Bridge, the name of Muhammadu Buhari will be immortalized.
I noted that the SouthEast must come together now and understand that the world has no place anymore for criminality, blackmail and pull-him-down syndrome. Whatever diplomacy cannot get for Ndigbo now, war will not get it for them.
Therefore, I commend the leadership of the ruling party, the at the State and National level for their commitment and involvement in ensuring the success of the gigantic project.
