Community women exco donates Item to Bomadi General Hospital

The Women wing of Bomadi federated communities led by its Chair, Mrs. Asalakaere Phone Odi has donated items to the Management of Bomadi General Hospital to alleviate the difficulties faced by medical personnel in providing healthcare services at the hospital.

Mrs. Asalakaere Odi along with members of her executive presented items which comprise benches, stainless buckets, mobs, brooms, plastic chairs to assist the hospital management.

While commending the medical personnel at the hospital in their efforts at saving lives in spite of the inadequate facilities at the hospital, Mrs. Agbedi decried the appalling state of infrastructural decay at the hospital, saying the items will be of immense assistance to the hospital. She added that she was appalled by the level of dilapidation in the infrastructure of the facility coupled with obsolete equipment at the hospital that she was moved to make an impact “no matter how small the revenue is accruing to my office”.

According to her, “it is the crave to make a difference and to impact positively in the lives of women and children in this community that I mobilized my executive members to this hospital to make this presentation in order to ease some of the burden faced by the hospital. It is sad to see a Doctor seated on broken and dirty chairs attending to patients. That is the situation at the Bomadi general hospital. I can tell you that women and children are the worse hit by the lack of good medical facilities”, Mrs. Agbedi lamented.

She therefore used the medium to appeal to the Delta State governor, Dr. Emmmanuel Eweta Uduaghan to rescue the hospital from imminent cave in, just as she called on Izon sons and daughters, Corporate Bodies, Non Governmental Organizations, NGOs, the general public as well as good spirited individuals to urgently bring the hospital back to standard.

Receiving the items, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Josiah Etukpere commended the women for their gesture in partnering with the management of the hospital to ameliorate some of their challenges, adding that he was impressed by the group for including the hospital in their budget.

Dr. Etukpere who was represented by Mr. Jebba Ayebi, emphasized some challenges in the hospital and enjoined government and other well meaning indigenes in the area to come to the aid of the hospital.

Some community leaders who were at the event to grace the occasion include Deacon Godwin Maze, Chief Mrs. Wurukeseiye Ogbeinama as well as staff of the hospital amongst others.
