Neigbouring Delta and Edo States recorded a total of 30 COVID - 19 positive cases yesterday, Wednesday February 24, with the death toll in Nigeria as a result of the virus now put at 1,885.
Figures posted by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC on its twitter handle at the dawn of today, Thursday February 25, showed that Edo State recorded 17 COVID - 19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, while Delta State reported 13 Coronavirus positive cases.
The breakdown obtained by Fresh Angle International, revealed that of the 655 new cases of COVID - 19 positive cases reported in Nigeria yesterday, Lagos State produced the highest figure of 240, followed by Ogun and Rivers States with 88 and 56 cases respectively, while Ekiti and Osun States recorded the lowest figure of two cases each.
153,842 confirmed cases have been reported in Nigeria so far, with 130,818 persons successfully treated and discharged.
The country has recorded less than 1,000 positive cases of the virus daily in the last one week, despite apparent disregard for COVID - 19 protocols in public places by most Nigerians.
