Armed Robbers shoot vigilante, driver of customer to a POS in Warri

Armed Robbers said to be three in number, at about 2pm today, Thursday February 25, stormed a POS at the former Secretariat of Okere Community Development Committee in Ugbuwangue, Warri, Delta State, shooting a vigilante attached to the POS on his right hand, apparently to demobilize him and fatally injured the driver of a customer that came to deposit undisclosed sum of money, which the robbers successfully went away with, according to sources in the area.

Fresh Angle International gathered from a source that was 30meters away from the scene of the bloody incident that the gunmen came in a Black Mercedes Benz Car, parked outside the premises of the POS, which has perimeter fencing and entered the compound where the POS is, before shooting the vigilante and the driver of the customer.

The Source told This Newspaper that the driver was inside a Hilux vehicle, waiting for his boss who went to the POS with the intent of depositing cash, when the armed robbers shot him in-between one of his hands and stomach, while inside the Hilux.

It was said that the hoodlums made away with the cash the customer intended to deposit without gaining access to the POS itself, this was after firing few shots, which attracted a mobile policeman attached to a prominent politician living behind the building, housing the POS.

Before the armed mobile policeman could rush to the scene to confront the robbers, they had drove out, while the injured vigilante and the driver were immediately taken to nearby clinic in the community for First Aid, before they were referred to another hospital.
