The ancient town of Akpugo in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, came alive Friday February 26, as Emeka Okonkwo buried his mother, late (Mrs.) Francisca Ugboaku Okonkwo (Nee Ekenwulo) at the family compound of Chief Cyril Aneke Okonkwo.

The Funeral Mass, which took place in the family compound, was celebrated by Rev. (Fr.) Edeh Maurice of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Akpugo.

During the homily, the Cleric stressed the need for everyone to know God, saying it is more beneficial to know God while alive, than to die without knowing Him. “When you die in Christ you will enjoy eternal life”, he admonished.
