Countdown to Delta LG Polls: APC, PDP clash over alleged rigging plot in Warri South
Mr. Owumi Mario

Barely 24hours to the Delta State Local Government Election fixed for tomorrow, Saturday March 6, the All Progressives Congress, APC in Warri South Local Government Area, says it has: “Uncovered dubious plans by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in collaboration with the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC, to rig the forthcoming local government elections in the state”, alleging of, “plan to manipulate the results in favour of their (PDP) candidates by rigging and presenting false votes”,

Chairman of APC in Warri South Local Government Area, Mr. Owumi Mario, in a syndicated press statement released today, Friday March 5, urged: “Deltans to reject this moves to deprive the people of their fundamental rights to vote as guaranteed in the constitution of Nigeria. The ploy by the PDP is to use the adhoc staff of DSIEC in the various polling units.

“We have also be informed that the PDP particularly in Warri South Local Government Area plans to do this with compromised staff of DSIEC to give them fake results – please let all relevant bodies and security agencies take note of this. We must all work together to checkmate this plan, in order to avoid smooth rigging”.

When Fresh Angle International contacted the Chairman of PDP in Warri South Local Government Area, Mr. Johnson Agbeyegbe on the allegation by APC, he stated: “We are not aware of any rigging plot. We (PDP) are not the one conducting the election, we have contestants under our party platform. Our responsibility is to mobilize our supporters and electorates to vote for all PDP candidates”.
