A Nigerian Businessman, Alhaji Nasiru Danu, has threatened to institute legal action against SaharaReporters, over perceived libelous report, if the online newspaper fail to retract an alleged defamatory publication on all its distribution platforms or tender unreserved apology, which shall be published in three National dailies for seven consecutive days.
Alhaji Danu, in an electronic statement made available to Fresh Angle International, Monday March 8, claimed that Sahara Reporters’ published a purported fake report, Friday March 5, 2021, wherein it alleged that: “The Nigerian Customs Head, Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd.) collaborated with a Nigerian Businessman, Alhaji Nasiru Danu, to steal N51Bn from the Nigerian Customs Service”.
While stating that the report by SaharaReporters was the work of fiction, Alhaji Danu, revealed that his lawyers have written to Sahara Reporters, giving the online platform 7 days to do the needful or face tough legal battle.
