Dr. Michael Tidi, taking Oath of Office

A Warri based Socio-political pressure group, Warri South Development Forum, WSDF, has described the re-election and subsequent inauguration of Dr. Michael Tidi, Monday March 8 at Asaba by Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, as a testament of good governance and implementation of people-driven policies.

President of WSDF, Comrade Oma Omayone, in an interview with newsmen, Monday March 8, shortly after the swearing-in of Dr. Michael Tidi for the commencement of his second term as Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, averred that the achievements of the Dr. Tidi led administration in the first tenure, necessitated the support he enjoyed from people of Warri South during the Delta State Local Government Poll, held Saturday March 6.

He identified Dr. Tidi’s achievements in the first tenure to include; execution of 21 water projects across the 19 wards that make up the local government, donation of six fishing boats with engines as well as fishing nets to six Co-operative Societies in the local government area, improving access to the major markets in Warri, installation of solar powered street lights at Igbudu Market, refurbishing of Patrol Van for the Police at ‘A’ Division, Warri, expansive/daily environmental sanitation activities on both Warri City Centre and the Riverine Areas of the Local Government Area, committing huge resources on Peace Building and Engagement with Security Agencies in the Local Government Area, servicing traditional institutions in the Local Government Area, via robust engagement, historic takeover of Ogbe-Ijoh Market, Warri, after several years of business activities in the market premises, procurement of waste disposal truck, payment of inherited staff salary arrears of several months and ensuring adequate provision of drugs and utilities to health centres within the Local Government Area.

While assuring people of Warri South Local Government Area that the newly sworn-in Warri South Local Government Chief Executive, would consolidate on his past achievements and explore fresh ways of advancing grassroots governance.
