Book uncovers how the Amnesty Programme can be better implemented for the benefit of Niger Delta people

A book, which clearly exposed strategies that would have been better for the implementation of the Amnesty Programme, to ensure that Niger Delta people benefitted from the programme has been published.

The Literature, titled ‘The Niger Delta Peoples’ Perceptions of the Niger Delta Amnesty Program in Nigeria’, was written by Mrs. Maria Omorere-Adetula (ESQ) (Ph.D.) NCPM, PARBT, PCILR).

Fresh Angle International understands that the deeply researched work: “Is an exploratory case study research that sought the perspective of the people of the Niger Delta Region as it affects the Niger Delta Amnesty Program and the basic needs of the people in the Niger Delta Region”.

The author used a qualitative exploratory case study methodology that made it possible for her to focus on the perspective of the Isoko people about the Niger Delta Amnesty Program.

The findings of the qualitative study, showed that the Niger Delta Amnesty Program has not been fairly or equitably applied to all communities in the region, including the Isoko community, where protests have been peaceful.
