The Delta State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN Rev. Gideon Oyibo has charged pastors to desist from “exploiting” their flocks “because God does not accept such misconduct”, just as he added that some medical doctors, PHD holders, masters and first degree holders are suffering because they lack the grace of God in their life.
Rev. Oyibo who was speaking on the topic “Grace” took his text from the book of 1st Peter 4:10-11 during a book presentation tagged “ABC prevailing book of prayers for the less privileged persons in the church and the society”.
The state CAN chairman described the book presentation as an avenue to join others with the grace of God with a view to assisting fellow Christian brothers.
Rev. Oyibo showered encomiums on Dr. Odunayo Oke who is also the Senior Pastor of Avenue Baptist Church for his courage, love and kindness for the less privilege and vulnerable people in the church as well as setting up of a foundation to cater for the less privileged.
According to the cleric, the reason why people in the church are suffering is because they have not invested in the lives of their fellow Christians, adding that Africans do not utilize the grace of God very well hence they “celebrate birthdays, marriages and funerals” among others elaborately without using the money to effect the life of others positively.
