Pessu Market to get tomatoes section as Tidi gives Okrika sellers in Mciver fresh mandate

Sellers of Tomatoes at Mami Market, along Sapele - Benin Road, are to relocate to Pessu Market in Warri, within the next one month, Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.

 

The assurance was given by the Chairman of Tomatoes Traders at Mami Market, Sapele Road, Ibrahim Abdulmalik, Wednesday March 31, at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri, Delta State, during a meeting convened by the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi.

 

The Warri South Local Government Chairman, who addressed representatives of the leadership of the tomatoes and okrika (second-hand clothes) traders on strategies by his administration to beautify Warri and boost economic activities in Pessu Market, directed the executive of Okrika traders at Mciver Market in Warri, to immediately commence process for relocating the display of their wares from Mciver Roundabout to Pessu Market or other acceptable locations.

Dr. Tidi, disclosed plan by a group of senior citizens who see Warri as their home, to beautify the Mciver Roundabout in line with his administration's policy to improve the aesthetics of Warri and attract palpable socio - economic development.

 

While noting that the right atmosphere in terms of Pessu community leaders' readiness to support expansion of trading activities and good access/internal roads, have been created in Pessu Market, Dr. Tidi, insisted that the resolve to clean-up Warri South and bring down illegal structures/ shanties was unshakable.

 

Warri South Local Government Council Market Master In-Charge of Pessu Market, Comrade Tuoyo Ajinomisaghan, who also spoke of plans to revive business happenings in Pessu Market, identified the riverine access to Pessu Market from Ogbe-Ijoh in Warri South-West Local Government Area and Ovwian/Aladja in Udu Local Government Area, as potential advantages of trading at Pessu Market.
