Barely 24hours to the Isoko North Constituency Bye-Election fixed for tomorrow, Saturday April 10, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, has announced the deployment of two thousand and sixteen personnel to provide security during the poll.
According to a statement made available to Fresh Angle International today, Friday April 9, by the Commissioner, the deployment of officers to all the polling units and some speculated hot spots in Isoko North Local Government Area, is to maintain peace and calm all through the electioneering process.
The statement signed on behalf of the CP by the Ag. Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP. Edafe Bright, appealed to front runners in the bye-election to, “caution all their
supporters and foot soldiers, to restrain themselves from causing chaos as such will not be tolerated”.
While noting that there will be restriction of movement around Isoko North Local Government Area from Friday 9th April 2021 by 0000hours to Saturday 10th April 2021 by 1600hours, the Police Boss, warned that no Police Aid or security agent will be allowed to escort their principals or any important personality (VIPs) to polling units or on any movement while the bye-election last, saying any Security Aid violating the directive will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
