Ndokwa West Legislative Leader, Okoloafor reveals his policy direction
Rt. Hon. Ndubisi Okoloafor

Leader of Ndokwa West Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Ndubisi Okoloafor, says his policy direction is geared towards enabling his colleagues in the House, especially the new ones to understand legislative terms or terminologies, with a view to differentiating between Bills and Legislative Draft.

Rt. Hon. Okoloafor, who represents Ward 19, Emu- Uno in Ndokwa-West Local Government Area, made the disclosure during an exclusive with Our Kwale Correspondent, Monday April 12.

He stated: “As a Leader of the House, my priority is to organize Legislative Induction, to enable the legislators, especially the new ones to understand the legislative terms or terminologies. For instance, they need to understand what Motion is all about, difference between Bills and Legislative Draft and so on”.

On Bills that would boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the Council, Hon. Okoloafor, stated: “We need to revive the Cemetery System of the Local Government, where payments would be made before burial. We need to come up with Legislative Draft on Agriculture, since there is no existing by-law to that effect. There are so many fish ponds, piggeries, poultries, rubber plantations, palm tree plantations etc within the Local Government Area that would be potential sources of revenue.

“Modernizing the Ndokwa-West Local Government Bill on Sanitation, would be another avenue to boost the local government revenue. Initiating a Legislative Draft on the stoppage of Street/Road block by individuals for marriages, burials and other social activities, equally has the potential to boost the council’s revenue profile”, the lawmaker added.
