Police arrests suspected POS robbers


Three Suspects who robbed a POS Shop in Ogidi, under Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, have been arrested by the Nigerian Police, Fresh Angle International can report.

They were arrested by the Operatives of Operation Puff Adder II, attached to Iyara Division of Kogi State.

According to a statement issued today, Wednesday April 14, by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP William Ovye Aya, the three armed men on yesterday invaded a POS shop at Ogidi, attacked the operator, inflicted injury on him and forcefully collected unspecified amount of money from the operator.

The statement explained further that upon getting the report of the robbery incident, the Operatives of Operation Puff Adder II, promptly swung into action through an intelligence led operation, trailed the suspects to their hideout and arrested them.

Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that the three suspects arrested by the Police are: 45-year old Gideon Zaccus, 24-year old Medupin Joseph and Ofolabi David who is 20 years old.

The PPRO, said the Command recovered one single barrel gun and phones from the robbery syndicate.

He said the suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of the investigation.

"The Commissioner of Police reassures members of the public of the Command level of commitment in synergy with other security agencies in the State to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties" he added.

Aya, called on the general public to sharpen their power of observation and volunteer credible as well as timely information on the activities of criminal elements in the State.
