The Youth Wing of Host Communities of Nigeria (Producing Oil and Gas) HOSTCOM, Itsekiri Chapter, has warned that it will not tolerate any act of intimidation or lawlessness from government, the management of Chevron Nigeria Limited and, " neighbours" over the reported threats by Gbaramatu Ijaws to attack Itsekiris in Omadino, Bateren and Deghele, who are hosts to Chevron's Abiteye, Makaraba and Otunana Fields.

Youth leader of HOSTCOM, Itsekiri Chapter, Comrade Mene - Ejegi Gabriel Ajemijeroma, in an electronic statement made available to Fresh Angle International mid day today, Saturday April 17, cautioned the management of Chevron, "not to connive with Ijaw of Gbaramatu to perpetuate illegality, but to immediately conduct the Joint Investigation Verification, JIV by involving our Itsekiri kinsmen, who are the company's host ".

While drawing the attention of the Federal and Delta State Governments to what he called, "publications, video and threat being carried out by the Gbaramatu Ijaw youths against Itsekiri people of Omadino, Bateren and Deghele as well as crude oil installations within the communities, without restrain", the Itsekiri HOSTCOM youth leader, stated: "The only thing that would gaurantee peace in the Chevron host communities, where the recent crude oil spill occurred, is to involve all the Itsekiri host communities in the intended JIV, because the Itsekiri and Olu of Warri ownership of the areas affected by the oil spill, is undisputable".
