Omadino Community was founded by our ancestors who migrated from Ode -Ijebu the present day Ogun State, they found Okighigho, Bakokodia, Akpata, Nana Creek, Lolomi, Yamuyamu etc. This areas are very rich fishing resorts, the area is like fish pound where different tribes, present day Nigerians come to fish and pay rents of £1 ,£2, £3 or more for timber cutters to my forefathers.
One ogomini or Ofomini and his son Bubor approached the paramount chiefs Prince Chanomi for a fishing camp and Chanomi seek the consent of Omadino people, the consent was granted.
Omadino people did not give the land to Uluba, but it was giving to one Akpatah family as fishing camp the place they now call Okerenkoko, while the original name is Okighigho.
We only recognize the Bubor family in all that area starting from Bakokodia down to Makaraba flow station, it was only the Bubor family that requested for a fishing camp from Prince Chanomi, every other family residing on that lands are illegal immigrants from Oporaza.
The land (Bakokodia) was giving to Ogimini and his son Bubor, after so many years of dwelling they did not take Omadino community to court, it was in the year 1945 after the death of Prince Chanomi some of their unscrupulous tribal man led by Adurumokomor who migrated from oporaja Gbaramatu kingdom started collecting rents from people fishing in Omadino community land, Warri kingdom in Warri South-wWest (Bakokodia), this same Adurumokumor arrest my forefathers and institute a case against them in the Gbaramatu native Court later transferred to Supreme Court Warri Judicial Division now Warri High Court, he lost the case and he was costs or fined.
Let me recap when Adurumokumor was cross examine (defendant): his response was I’m from Kokodiagbine
2) l did not know my ancestors took permission from Prince Chanomi
3)l know big man in Itsekiri call Nana, l did not know if he have river or creek.
4) I arrested the people of Omadino to gbaramatu native Court and the case was transfer to Supreme Court l LOST and l was cost, l tried to appeal but appeal refused to grant my appeal and l PAY the costs awarded to me to Omadino people.
I will upload the judgement gradually, so that the world will be our witness and why the Delta state Govt, Nigeria Government and Chevron should not take our gentleness for stupidity, as a matter of urgency we want the Government to do the needful by renaming the Nigeria Maritime University, NMU, to Okighigho not okerenkoko, if the Delta state Government and Nigeria Federal Government failed to do so we are watching.
However, Our ancestors migrated from Ode Ijebu the present day Ogun state, meaning our overlordship was giving to the Olu of Warri, Warri kingdom not ownership.
The Nigeria Govt owned the country and the ownership of the land still belong to the people.
l so believe, the major reason why the forefathers of the Bubor family went to meet Chanomi then governor and Chanomi seek the consent of Omadino people, this means that, the land belong to the people and the country own the people to protect their lives and properties.
My advise to those people or agents of government or Chevron is we wont allow anyone or group politicize our judgement in the Land dispute case in Suit No. W/29/1949 Between Emmanuel Edema Sillo (M) Edremoda Golley (M) on behalf of themselves and the people of Omadino as Plaintiff And Adurumokumor (M) on behalf of himself and the people of Kakokodia as Defendant which judgement was delivered in the plaintiffs favour with 20 Pounds damages against the defendant for infringement of the plaintiff rights.
The World is watching Let's trade carefully and be mindful.
