Former President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG and member of Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, UBRBA, Alero Naomi Tenumah, has congratulated the minority Blacks in the United States of America over the conviction of ex-Minneapolis Police Officer, Derek Chauvin, who was found guilty of the murder of George Floyd, saying Itsekiris will also be vindicated by God Almighty, from the perceived marginalization of their neighbouring Ijaw and Urhobo.
Tenumah, who spoke to Fresh Angle International this morning, Wednesday April 21, in a brief telephone interview, stated that the Itsekiris cannot be pulled out from their God-given land or continue to suffer perceived marginalization by people who think they are majority.
She declared: I want to congratulate all Blacks in America, who are the minority groups in America. While congratulating them, I will also like to relate it with what is happening to us (Itsekiri) as minority in Delta State, we are being marginalized by people that think they are majority. I want them to know that the way George Floyd was vindicated, that is how we will be vindicated by God Almighty.
“The Ijaws and the Urhobos cannot just wake up and think that they are group of people that can kill us like that. We cannot be pulled out from our God-given land. This people think they can just kill people in our community, but it’s not possible, because they are not God”.
