Delta LG Chairmen fashion out solutions to primary health care delivery, security challenges

Local Government Chairmen in Delta State, under the auspices of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, has fashioned out solutions geared towards effective primary healthcare delivery and tackling security challenges across the 25 local government areas in the state.

 

Fresh Angle International can report that this much was disclosed today, Wednesday May 12, by the Delta State Chairman of ALGON and Chairman of Ika North-East Local Government Area, Hon. Victor Ebonka, at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri, shortly after the monthly meeting of the association.

 

Hon. Ebonka, who told newsmen during an interview that their meeting centered on environment and primary health care services, noted: “We invited other stakeholders from Asaba to address us and we have been able to come up with very important solutions, regarding the challenges we are having with primary healthcare in our respective local government areas”.

 

He added: “Security is one of the major issues, we discussed by hearing from each other, because we have peculiar local government areas and peculiar security challenges. We listened to each other, analyzed the issues as well as the current situation and went further to proffer measures for sustenance of peaceful co-existence among the local government areas”. 

 

The State Treasurer of ALGON and Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, who also spoke to newsmen after the meeting, explained: “We, the respective Chief Security Officers of our local government areas, took a decision to give the necessary support to our Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, who just hosted his colleagues across the South on issues bothering on security in our region.  We discussed on the need to share intelligence between ourselves, with a view to improving the security situation in our local government areas”.
