NIMASA, CAC flag fraud alerts

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA and the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, have flagged fraud alerts, warning Nigerians to ignore advert for job vacancies as well as free online registration of self-employed and business owners.

Fresh Angle International can report that while NIMASA disclosed that internet-based syndicates have been peddling false information on employment by the agency, with a view to defrauding unsuspecting members of the public, CAC enjoined self-employed and business owners, to ignore any advert on free online business registration, with the benefits of free N50,000.00 cash from FG and free trip to the United Kingdom.

The NIMASA warning, scooped few minutes ago from the verified twitter handle of the agency by This Newspaper, stated inter-alia: “The attention of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has been drawn to the activities of internet-based syndicates who have been peddling false information on employment by NIMASA with a view to defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

“These unscrupulous elements have been using dubious means to defraud job seeking Nigerians by requesting them to fill an online application and make payments through various online platforms.

“The Agency, hereby wishes to advise the public that any person or group of persons patronizing these unauthorized syndicates does so at his or her own risk, as the Agency has not commissioned any person/consultant(s) to conduct any recruitment exercise”.

The Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC on its part, identified benefits promised by the fraudsters to include: “Certificate of Incorporation, Legal Liability Protection, Free International Trade, Continuity, Reputation with Customers and Getting on FG Record”.
