Otone Ogodo Layout, Jeddo celebrates Children's Day in grand style

As part of efforts aimed at encouraging children, the Otone Ogodo Layout in Jeddo, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, on Saturday May 29, organized Children's Day party for children within and outside the layout.

 

The event which was held at the premises of the Chairman of Otone Ogodo Layout Landlords’ Association, Mr. Asare Michael Segun, witnessed large turn-out of children in the area as well as parents.

Chairman of the 2021 Organizing Committee, Karo Okotete in an exclusive chat disclosed that the Children's Day event in the area was to encourage unity and spiritual energy among families.

 

He stated that the programme impacted positively on the lives of the children as it boosted the children’s educational development and psychology as well as their robust rational thinking morals in learning and exhibition.

 

The event featured spelling bees, dancing competition, questions and answers, words pronunciation, mathematics and quantitative reasoning, among KG, Primary pupils and secondary school students.

Kossy Agubarama, won the dancing competition, Testimony Aigbojare of KG2, spelling bee, while Gospel Okpako and Oyo Bomele, won guitar and flute, respectively. A parent, Mrs. Aigbojare, won wrapper as best mother in the parent category of the dancing competition.

 

The children expressed excitement and prayed for sustenance of the event, promising to be better children always.

 

A poetic literature book titled "Beyond Seasons" written by Eriata Orhibhabor, was also distributed to the children that participated in the event.
