Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. Dave Umahi, is set to employ fresh 3,000 persons into the state civil service and another 2,000 at the Local Government level, making it a total of 5,000 young people to be engaged by the government, as part of measures to reduce poverty in the South-Eastern State.
This much was deduced from an electronic statement sent to Fresh Angle International this morning, Wednesday June 16, by Governor Umahi’s former Aide and President/Founder of David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda, DUNAETA, Lady Monica.
She stated: “The above notwithstanding, the Governor is set to empower extra 3,000 youths drawn across the local government areas of the state in consonance with his administration’s drive and commitment to reducing poverty, exploring the potential of youths and improving the livelihoods of families.
“The decision is coming at a time when some Governors are struggling to clear backlog of salaries owed civil servants and others retrenching workers to gain stability. Gov. Umahi has once more cleared every iota of doubt about his status as a rare breed in leadership and politics of Nigeria”.
