Authorities of Warri South Local Government Council in Delta State on Saturday June 26, intensified the clean - up of major streets and roads in Warri as part of efforts to check flooding in the Oil City.
The clean - up, which coincided with the state monthly environmental sanitation exercise, was supervised by the Council's Supervisor for Environment, Patricia Edun, the Head of Environment Department, Mrs. Stella Mode and the Assistant Director of Environment, Mrs. Indiana Oweimetu.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, had repeatedly stated that environmental sanitation/ beautification as well as peace and security, form the major plank of his administration's policy for the current term.
Officers of the environment department alongside labourers and refuse truck, were duly mobilized to strategic areas in the city, to ensure success of the exercise.
Fresh Angle International, understands that Odion Road, Carvagina Primary School, Cemetery Road, Okere Road, Okumagba Estate Roundabout, Ogunu Road by Federal Government College Warri Fence and Ugbuwangue, were among areas cleaned up by officials of the council.
