Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, has described the recent report by National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, which revealed that Delta State economy grew by 51 percent in six years, with her Gross Domestic Product, GDP rising to N4. 471 trillion in 2019 from N2. 961 trillion in 2015, vis-a-vis the corresponding increase in the fortunes of non - oil sector, as eloquent testimony of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s, “excellent and strategic leadership qualities”.
Dr. Tidi, who made the declaration in a goodwill message to mark Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s 62nd birthday, which falls on Thursday July 8, stated: “We are not surprised about the NBS report, because the STEP, YAGEP, GEEP, PPSP and Special Programme for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and other strategic programmes initiated by your administration, alongside key infrastructural development projects, are natural socio - economic drivers.
“Your Excellency's records are impressively long and ever flowing. Yet, we remain expectant of more to come, as you continue to lead, mold, guide, and light the path in our State's onward march to attaining a Stronger Delta”.
While congratulating the Governor on behalf of the Executive Council, Legislative Arm, Staff and Good People of Warri South Local Government, Dr. Tidi, added: “We trust God to bless you and your family with sound health, lasting joy and divine protection”.
