Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, Dr. Michael E. It was gathered that the quick intervention of some residents in the area, prevented the blaze from spreading to a nearby school, residential houses and dual storey-buildings under construction, even as over 350 bags of cement procured for the storey-buildings were affected.

Eyewitnesses in the area, told the Warri South Chairman that the cause of the inferno, which completely razed down the make-shift structures, said to be accommodating hundreds of Arewa Settlers, could not be ascertained.

The Warri South Local Government Boss, who empathized with the victims in an interview with newsmen, called on owner of the land to meet with him, “if truly he knows the nature of the occupants”.

While emphasizing that his administration is unwavering in the resolve to know the legitimacy of the kind of businesses occupants of the settlement do, Dr. Tidi, stated: “We insist that they comport themselves in tandem with the law”.
