APCON partners CCN on Professionalism in Advertising

The Management of Confluence Cable Network, CCN, owners of Grace 95.5FM Lokoja in Kogi State and Confluence Television, have promised to work with the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, APCON to enable them function effectively in Kogi State.

 

The Managing Director of CCN, Mr. Simbabi Ogbeha, gave the assurance when the team of APCON paid him a courtesy visit in his office today, Tuesday July 27.

 

It was gathered that the maiden visit of APCON to the organization, was aimed at creating an enabling environment for effective service delivery, through advertising.

 

Describing the visit as timely, the Managing Director of CCN, Mr. Simbabi Ogbeha, intimated his visitors that the organization has never been found wanting in any advert they air on both radio and television station, adding that they have been very professional in the discharge of their duties.

 

According to him, the organization has won series of award since it was established in 2007.

 

Ogbeha, averred that CCN has continued to promote culture and religious tolerance in Kogi through its content based programmes and advertisements.

 

He explained further that the organization has not relent in training  and retraining of their personnel, just as he promised a good and  harmonious working relationship with APCON in Nigeria.

 

Ogbeha, however reminded his visitors  that the company has other investment that could be keyed into by APCON in Kogi State.

 

Earlier, the Zonal Head of APCON, Mr. Today Taiwo, while explaining the reasons for their maiden visit, said they are trying to familiarise themselves with all the media organizations in Kogi State, in a bid to foster good working relationship.

 

Taiwo, explained to the management that they are not in Kogi State to witch-hunt anyone, adding that their major responsibility is to regulate advertising in Nigeria 

 

Giving an overview of the advertising code, he said all forms of advert must be legal, conscious of Nigeria culture and should not be against the Nigeria Constitution.

 

He urged the Managing Director to always carry the body along in whatever they are doing, stressing that the body will continue to liaise with relevant authorities to enhance professionalism through advertising.

 

Adding his voice, a member of APCON, Daudu Umar Danladi, noted that the organization is an agency under the Federal Ministry of Information.

He said workers of the marketing department in any broadcast organization, are expected to be a members of APCON.
