A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, 2023 Delta State governorship aspirant, Evangelist Solomon Sunday Oruarefe, has stated that the PDP was the only hope for Nigerians.
He stated this in an interactive session with students of Dennis Osadebe University, Anwai near Asaba , Delta state, where he went to declare his ambition on Saturday August 14.
Oruarefe highlighted the problems confronting the country and achievements of the leading Nigeria ' political parties, the APC and PDP so far.
He then declared that the PDP was better and that PDP was peoples oriented party " that is why I am contesting under the Peoples Democratic Party".
In the interactive session tagged: 'Youth & Truth' Oruarefe scored Governor Ifeanyi Okowa high in his achievements in all sectors of the economy so far.
The youthful Delta State governorship hopeful challenged other aspirants in the contest to a debate on how to improve on the achievements of Governor Okowa.
He stated that youths have the capability to govern the state.
"We (youths) are never too young to run for any elective position in this country.
"There is something working for us which they do not have; we have God on our side and the voice of the people", he added.
The Delta State governorship hopeful also stated that elders of Israel were present when youthful David delivered the nation of Israel from the hands of Goliath.
Oruarefe, a graduate of Accountant of the then Delta State University, Anwai Campus, however assured that if elected as governor of Delta State, he would also cater for the needs of other aged groups.
A member of his team, Hon. Markson Eshiesimua, who spoke at the event, strongly advised youths not to allow themselves to be used by mischievous politicians to achieve their selfish aims in subsequent elections.
He also charged youths to get their PVCs as he noted that PVC is their only power to effect any meaningful change in governance.
Students, who spoke to our Correspondent shortly after the event,praised Evangelist Oruarefe for his courage and erudite submissions.
While promising to give their total support to the governorship hopeful, they called on other youths and Deltans to do so.
