2023: Okowa’s political ally, Prof. Oyovbaire reconciles Opuoru, Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a former Minister of Information and arrow-head of the political cabinet of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Prof. Sam Ejite Oyovbaire, on Wednesday August 18, reportedly reconciled the member representing Warri South Constituency II in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru and the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Warri, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Emmanuel Okumagba.

Fresh Angle International understands that Prof. Oyovbaire, who is the current Chairman, Delta State Advisory Council and The Governing Council of Delta State University, Abraka, brokered the peace when he led Hon. Opuoru and some of his (Opuoru) loyalists on a reconciliatory visit to the Monarch.

Prof. Oyovbaire, reportedly urged the Okere-Urhobo Monarch to: “Temper Justice with Mercy on issues relating to his hardworking son (Hon. Opuoru) and put aside any conflict that would have existed between them for the sake of God, then forge ahead as members of one united family”.

 

The Orosuen of Okere - Urhobo Kingdom, Emmanuel Okumagba, was quoted to have said that Prof Oyovbaire, shouldn't have spent his time coming to Warri, rather he should have sent an emissary, since the matter was deemed to be an In-house affair.

 

The Okere-Urhobo Monarch and the prominent lawmaker, were reunited in the presence of very important political dignitaries and chiefs in the area.

 

The Commissioner, Representing Ughelli South, Udu, Uvwie and the Urhobos of Warri South in the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, Chief Bright Okumagba, Chief Ojuvwu Okumagba, Former Chairman, Okere - Urhobo Community Development Committee, Mr. Emmanuel Toja Eminokanju, the Councilor Representing Okumagba 2, Ward 12 in Warri South Legislative Arm, Chief Ogheneochuko Eyekpimi and the PDP Chairman, Okumagba I, Ward II, Chief Ochuko Maduku, were among dignitaries present during the reconciliation.
