Jeddo Community in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, is in grief following the killing of Jeddo Vigilante Chairman, Mr. Jude Akieru, popularly known as Scosco, by five gunmen.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 2am, Friday August 20, at Oil Junction in Jeddo.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to Our Correspondent on condition of anonymity, the gunmen asked Akieru, to off the torch light he pointed at them and his refusal, infuriated the gunmen, who shot him to death.
According to a source, some group of boys went to WWW Golden to steal some items, before the killing took place.
As at 7am when the this report was filed, roads leading to the axis were blocked as the Community leader asked all residents of Jeddo to meet at the Town Hall.
This Newspaper understand that the body of the dead vigilante leader has been deposited in the mortuary.
