The Kogi State House of Assembly, earlier today, Wednesday August 25, suspended the Chairman of Kogi Local Government Area, Mr. Abdulkareem Isah Sanni, over alleged criminal involvement.
Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report that the suspension of Sanni, was sequel to a resolution by members of the House, after the Speaker of the Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole, read a letter from Governor Bello, purportedly indicting the Council Boss of alleged criminal activities.
Kolawole, in his ruling, said the suspension of the Council Boss, will last until the outcome of the Department of State Service, DSS investigation.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the Speaker, directed that the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, Hasana Jezhi, to act as Chairman in the interim.
The member representing Igalamela Odolu Constituency, Barrister Cosmos Atabor, had noted during plenary that since the embattled Council Boss was indicted, it will not be right to allow him continue in office as Chairman.
Meanwhile, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, has sent over N30Billion 2021 supplementary budget to Kogi State House of Assembly for approval. The proposal was referred to the House Committee on Budget and Finance for necessary action.
