Gov. Bello inaugurates NYCN, NAKOSS, NANS executives, tasks them on team spirit

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, Saturday August 29, inaugurated the executives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, National Association of Kogi State Students, NAKOSS and the National Association of Nigeria Student, NANS, with a charge on them to develop team spirit towards achieving a better Kogi State.

 

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that Bello, who eulogised the newly elected executives maintained that when he assumed office on 27th of August, 2016, he deem it fit to invest in the youths which has indeed materialized under the present administration.

 

Describing Youths as a pace setter for a better Nigeria, Governor Bello said without team spirit and the inclusion of youths into the political space of the country, the vision of our founding father will not be actualized.

 

Represented by his Deputy Chief Edward David Onoja, the Governor, averred that great leaders does not work in isolation, adding that, the newly inaugurated executives handling various youth associations in the state and national must work in collaboration to attain a greater height in the country.

 

According to him, "when everyone is moving forward on the right part, we will achieve greatness. It is important to note here that without team spirit, we won't achieve our goals. With team work, you can move mountain".

 

In her key note address, the Secretary to Kogi State Government, Dr. Ayoade Folashade Arike, lauded the state Governor and the electoral committee for the peaceful conduct of the election that brought in the executives.

 

She admonished them to be a good ambassador of youth in the state and the country at large.

 

Earlier in his inaugural speech, the Kogi State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN) His Youthfulness Ambassador, Ogohi Samuel Usman said one of the most important aspects of the NYCN election is the fact that the society can still rely on the electoral system to produce a credible, peaceful and transparent election.

 

Continuing, Usmam said "For this, I won't fail to appreciate and acknowledge the effort of the Executive Governor of the state, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for always setting the pace for others to follow. It was because of his leadership prowess that the state is safe, first to stay without fear, second, for the election to hold peacefully without rancour and bitter experiences recorded with delegates and aspirants in peace before, during and after the election.

 

 

"The election process that was concluded recently therefore represents a celebration, more than a competition, of the founding principles of the council and the magnanimity of the His Excellency.

 

"Accordingly, this vote has been an act that strengthens unity across all sector. For that reason everyone that participated is a victor, because by strengthening the Kogi NYCN Council we are making progress in rebuilding and restructuring its pillars of peace-and unity in all the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, solidify the existing security measures in the state, pursue development and human rights for the benefit of our members and the common good of the state".

 

Usman, while charging all to awake to the reality on ground and speak up for the interest of the Nigerian youth, said the presidential aspiration of Governor Bello is a testament of his antecedents on grey areas that is currently bedevilling the country.

 

 

Also speaking, the National President, National Association of Kogi State Students, (NAKOSS) Comrade Rachael Mojirola Balogun said a strong relationship exist between education, students and society. 

 

"It is my strongest desire to maximize every available opportunities for us as an association so that the interests and concerns of our students are effectively and efficiently attended to within and not limited to the spectrum of educational institutions and the government but the society at large. Students’ Union leadership is formed to promote and defend the welfare needs of the Students’ Community, building things of recognized values around perceived opportunities for the students".

 

On his part, the State Chairman of NANS JCC, Comrade Olorunmagba Kehinde thanked the state government for the support enjoined by Kogi student, promising to maximise every available opportunities to the benefit of the association they represent.

 

Highpoint of the inauguration ceremony includes, lectures delivered by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku, Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Usman Salisu Ogbo, and S A Youth and Students Affairs, Hon. Ahmadu Jibril Oludare amongst others.
