The Itsekiri National Development Initiative, INDI and leaders of Itsekiri Ex-Agitators’ Forum, IEAF, have challenged the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Col. Milland Dixon Dikio: “To stop the divide and rule tactics and ensure that the genuine Itsekiri beneficiaries captured in the third phase of the programme and those approved for scholarships in the 2017/2018 deployment that were omitted from the recent payment, be paid immediately”, saying: “Because some of them have written their final exams, while others are in their 5th year already”.

INDI and IEAF, in a statement issued in Warri, Delta State, Monday September 6, noted: “While we commend the Col. Dikio led management of the Presidential Amnesty Programme for his reforms within a short while in the office, that has led to regular payment of bush and In-Training Allowance (ITA) transparency in deployment of genuine Ex-agitators, through online application etc., we strongly believe that there is still room for improvement”.

The statement signed by President of INDI, Comrade Dennis Mene, leaders of Itsekiri Ex-Agitators’ Forum, Comrade Okotie Esimaje and Comrade Henry Omajugho, stressed: “We wish to call for speedy response and payment of genuine Itsekiri Ex-agitators deployed, that their ITA was either stopped since December 31st, 2019 or have not been paid at all till date”.

They commended Col. Dikio: “For having the political will to do the needful, that even a Professor wasn't able to do” and: “Reiterated the need for funds allotted to be appropriately channeled for the benefit of the students yet to be paid and trained in the programme as it is very heartbreaking to see genuine agitators, especially the students deployed to school suffering in untold condition for years without stipends, while bulk stipends are being paid to some Ex- Generals.

“We hope the issue of the affected Itsekiri Ex-agitators, whose complaint have been communicated to the office, are given topmost priority as the affected students are running out of patience, given the long term neglect they have been facing in the office, despite furnishing the office all the needed documents to carry out their investigation and make their payments”.

INDI and leaders of Itsekiri Ex-Agitators’ Forum, IEAF, also hailed the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III for his coronation as the 21st Warri Monarch, adding: “It is our prayer that his reign will be long and usher in massive development to Warri Kingdom, comprising of Warri South, Warri North, Warri South-West and parts of Delta Central in Delta State as well as Ologbo in Ikpoba-Okha and Ekehuan in Ovia North-East Local Government Areas of Edo State.”
