Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has accused Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State of coaxing President Muhammadu Buhari to commission: “Insignificant projects that has no direct and positive impact to the people of the state and the South-East at large”, during the President’s visit to Imo State, yesterday.
The accusation was contained in a press statement issued today, Friday September 10 and E-sent to Fresh Angle International.
The statement signed by the Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, alleged: “Governor Uzodinma hoodwinked Buhari into believing that the people of Igbo Nation are faring well under his All Progressive Congress-led government”, adding: “The Imo Governor, enticed the Presidential delegation to disrespect the sensibilities of the Imolites and Ndigbo as a whole, with substandard road projects that are not up to five kilometers”.
“Uzodinma has wasted the state's treasury on the inconsequential projects, which should have been channeled in clearing backlogs of pensions and salaries owed to pensioners and workers of the state. The presidential visit failed to address critical and fundamental issues of South-East, such as the long-aged marginalization of the Igbo Nation that currently sprung up Secessionist agitations across the states of the South-East region”, the group emphasized.
