Chairman of Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Chief Goddey Obi Nzete, says his administration decided to embark on the regular clearing/evacuating of garbage on the drainages along Alamossai Street, off the popular Afia-Ogbe Market in Kwale, to safeguard the health of people in Kwale and environs.

Our Kwale Correspondent reports that Chief Nzete, gave the explanation yesterday, Wednesday September 29, while supervising the clearing/evacuating of refuse on the drains along Alamossai Street, as part of his administration’s policy targeted at keeping Ndokwa West Local Government Area very clean.

The Ndokwa West Local Government Boss, who was represented by the Council’s Supervisor for Environment, Mr. Eni Paul Kaso, stated that cleaning of the drainages along Alamossai, was a continuation of operation clean “our markets”, which started few weeks ago.

He noted that Afia-Ogbe is an everyday foodstuffs market that must be cleaned regularly.

A trader at the market, identified simply as Madam Micah, commended the Council executive for the initiative, saying: “I am very happy to see what this administration is doing, because since I have been in that market for more than twelve years, I hadn’t seen what I am seeing now”.
