The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba, has felicitated with His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello, as she joined fellow Nigerians to celebrate the country's 61st Independence anniversary.
A statement signed by Hajia Buba, Friday October 1, described this year independence anniversary as unique, adding that Nigeria is better united than divide.
Buba, noted that the country in the last 61 years despite it diversity in religion and ethnicity, has continued to leave as a united entity despite the mirage of challenges bedevilling the nation today.
She thanked the people of Kogi State for their unflinching support to the success story of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello adding that, they should continue to be an advocate for a stable and prosperous Nigeria.
While felicitating with Kogi Women and Nigeria in general on this memory day, she prayed that the struggle of our founding fathers towards the actualization of a better Nigeria will not go in vein.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that Buba, charged Nigerians to remain prayerful and focus on building a nation for all irrespective of tribe, religion or political affiliation.
The statement reads" Nigeria as a nation has many reasons to celebrate despite the mirage of challenges that is confronting our country toaday. We thank almighty Allah for Nigeria to come this far. Some individuals who does not mean well for the progress of this Nation have envisage that our great country will not be united till today. But, their plans has been defeated.
"It is very important for every citizens to support and cooperate with its leaders at all level. Just like I will always say and the principle of my principal Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, we believe in one Nigeria. In one Nigeria we stand and move on. Am using this opportunity to appreciate Kogites for supporting this administration. For our Women, expect more dividend of democracy from our amiable Governor. Insha Allah, Governor Yahaya Bello will take over the mantle of leadership as the number one citizen of this country come 2023".
