Pointer Newspaper, a daily publication of Delta State Government, is out of most newspaper stands in Warri South, Uvwie and Udu Local Government Areas of the state, Checks by Fresh Angle International has revealed.
Our Correspondent who went round most of the vendors' stands in Warri, Effurun and environs between Monday October 4 and Thursday October 7, reports that he could not get copies of the newspaper publication to buy after driving round the twin cities of Warri and Effurun.
The newspaper was not also readily available at Our Ladies High School, Effurun by Airport Junction distribution centre, from where other newspaper and magazine publications are distributed daily to Warri South, Uvwie, Udu and other neigbouring local government areas.
While one of the vendors claimed that only 20 copies of the newspaper is circulated daily in Warri and environs, another vendor said 50 copies are distributed daily in the aforesaid areas, saying they only get few copies for sale on Saturdays and Sundays.
The scarcity, has left a few persons who placed advert on the newspaper and prospective buyers frustrated as they could not understand the reason ( s) for the scarcity, whereas privately owned newspapers are displayed across vendors' stands in the twin cities.
